"Recently we had a pretty bad hailstorm in the area and several contractors came out to my home and said I had hail damage and should have my roof replaced. I contacted State Farm and they were prompt and soon sent out a claims adjuster. This claims adjuster was an independent contractor and showed up on a late Sunday afternoon by himself and proceeded to set up ladders and climb a 30 ft ladder to inspect a barn roof and other roofs on my property. I was shocked that an insurance company would send somebody out by themselves climbing at those heights with no fall protection and no spotter. I went out and helped this guy and proceeded to tell him that my dad had fallen off a ladder on this property and died from his injuries. Got a shoulder shrug and a sorry to hear that. State Farm got back with me a week or so later and denied my claim. I argued the matter with them, so they agreed to send one of their claims adjusters out to meet with contractors. When the date for inspection came we had rain and thunderstorms forecasted and had a downpour right before adjuster showed up. Again the local State Farm adjuster showed up by herself and started setting up ladders on wet muddy ground with no safety equipment whatsoever. I again went out and helped with setting up and holding ladder while she nervously climbed ladder. I again told the story of my Dad dying on the ground 30 ft. away from where she was climbing and got another sorry to hear that. They again denied my claim even though I could point out damaged spots from their pictures. If State Farm spent half the effort that they use on denying claims to taking care of their employees and practicing the principles of their business they may be able to Garner a little bit better reputation"
